If you are ever looking for Jason, you will likely find him in the Down Home Ranch kitchen. Jason has been working in this department since October 2016. He spends his weekdays proudly preparing and serving meals for over 50 Ranchers and staff! His desire to be a Chef began in his adolescence, learning how to cook alongside his dad at the Elks Lodge kitchen. Jason’s passion took him to Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell where he studied to earn an undergraduate certificate in food service. This program taught him skills and insight that have served him well ever since. His favorite memory in the kitchen is the day he helped Chef Scarleth prepare 70 six-course meals for the 2018 DHR Full Circle farm to table event. He enjoyed seeing everyone cheer after the meal, knowing he helped. When asked why he enjoys cooking, he states “I feel important!” 👨🍳
