Adventure Awaits

A Field Trip They’ll Never Forget

Down Home Ranch offers weekday field trips for schools and community groups looking to learn, explore, and connect. Each visit includes hands-on activities with nature, animals, and Ranch life, tailored to your group’s goals.

Field trips run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosting up to 60 students. Groups rotate through three chosen activities, with time for lunch indoors or outdoors. Programs are available for Pre-K through 5th grade, special education, and Life Skills students, with teachers attending free.

Barnyard

Meet the animals that call Down Home Ranch home, including horses, mini ponies, chickens, goats, and Longhorns. Learn about their care and daily life on the Ranch.

Greenhouse

Get hands-on in the greenhouse! Each student will plant their own succulent to take home while learning about how plants grow and thrive.

Try your luck at our catch-and-release pond, stocked with bass, catfish, and bluegill. Who will reel in the biggest catch of the day?

hiking trails

Explore DHR’s hiking trails and discover the flora and fauna that make the Ranch unique. Guided adventure and learning included!

Join our Enterprise team for a fun craft session! Each student will create a project to take home as a keepsake.

Make tasty s’mores at our fire pit while enjoying the outdoors and bonding with your group.

Get moving with organized activities in our gym or outdoor spaces. Options include archery, basketball, yoga, disc golf, and more!
