Salary: $10.50 to $12.00 /hour


The Social Enterprise Assistant is an hourly position located in the Enterprise Department reporting to the Director of Business Development. The Assistant helps with all aspects of the Social Enterprises, with a specific focus on the coordination of Rancher produced sellable arts, projects and fine art. The position will coordinate with other employees to develop meaningful creative outlets through expressive art, based on the specific goals of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Assistant will join with other professionals in a high-level commitment to provide a meaningful day and a high quality of life to the individuals being served.

Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; schedule and hours will be adjusted according to the needs of Down Home Ranch.

  • Maintains the appearance of spaces utilized by enterprise
  • Ability to identify an individual’s interests, strengths, skills, abilities, and unique set of challenges, while developing enterprise offerings
  • Leads, at least quarterly, enterprise meetings with stakeholders and submit meeting minutes
  • Learn and teach the use of a CO2 laser, 5 needle embroidery machine sewing machine, wood working equipment, etc.
  • Ensures selected products are produced within reasonable timeframe based on guidance given during the enterprise meeting
  • Coordinates all aspects of Farmers Markets, various Festivals and events; must work at least one weekend or evening event per month
  • Provides guidance and supervision to assigned volunteers
  • Conducts Etsy online store processes
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops and trainings
  • Reads and comply with all requirements and duties as outlined in staff training, in the Policies and Procedures for Intermediate Care Facilitate/ Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD) and Home and Community Based Services (HCS) at Down Home Ranch and in the Employee Handbook
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • History of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other vulnerable populations
  • Minimum age of 21; excellent driving record and able to pass extensive background investigation
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Positive attitude, good people skills
  • Flexible, organized, patient, reliable, trustworthy, loyal, outgoing and friendly, good sense of humor
  • Able to maintain confidentiality under requirements of the HIPAA statutes
