At home among friends...

We all want a real home, with friends who love us just the way we are. For people with disabilities, once out of school life can get lonely. It's not easy negotiating job, home, family, transportation, and relationships.

For people with disabilities, life can quickly come down to watching t.v. and not much else, without an active support system to help.

Down Home Ranch was built because a mom and a dad who loved their baby girl with all their hearts looked into the future, and saw that while programs existed to take care of physical needs, opportunities to forge lasting friendships in a challenging yet supportive environment were scarce for adults with special needs.

Ranchers, as residents are called, are invited to join our community. They must want to live at Down Home Ranch, and be willing and able to work.

We all work together in the greenhouses, the camps, with the donkeys, and in other enterprises to secure the Ranch's future. We share good times and bad together.
