A Time to Remember: It's Ranch RoundUp Time at Down Home Ranch in Elgin, Texas 78621. Mark your calendar for April 17/18, 2009 and join us at our annual fund-raising, charity event that includes a golf tournament, dancing to the music of Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88's, wine tasting, and silent and live auctions.

RoundUp Weekend in Round Rock

What a weekend it was, starting out cool and sunny for the Golf Tournament, hosted by the beautiful Teravista Golf Club, on Friday, April 9.

Seventy-two golfers took to the course in a four-man scramble. Fun was had, fibs were told, many mulligans were purchased, and prizes were awarded, all followed by a luscious fajita dinner.

The next day over 300 friends and supporters attended the Gala, held in the beautiful new Parish Hall of St. William Catholic Church. Elgin's Southside Market served up its famous brisket, sausage, and chicken with all the trimmings, and Fall Creek Vineyards provided the wine tasting.

We are indebted to friends and merchants who donated baskets, goods, and services to the silent auction. This year saw the addition of a Super Silent auction, featuring unique offerings you won't see at any other charity auction: The Great Wild Pig Adventure and the Princess (or Li'l Buckaroo) Pony & Pool Party.

This year we worked with professional charity auctioneer Gayle Stallings to conduct the live auction. Gayle provided excitement, expertise, and entertainment in equal measure, more than living up to our hopes and expectations.

After the auctions closed came the part the Ranchers had been waiting for—dancing to the lively tunes and harmonies of The Quebe Sisters Band. They had spent weeks practicing the Virginia Reel for the occasion, and delighted the crowd.

We are greatly indebted to the following for sponsorships, donations, volunteer time, and underwriting for the Golf/Gala Weekend:
