The Resident Assistant (RA) lives in a home with four men or four women with Down syndrome or other disabilities, providing them with instruction, guidance, assistance, and friendship with the goal of helping them to achieve greater competence and independence in all walks of life. This is a full-time, live-in position for a single man, single woman, or couple.

The Weekend Resident Assistant (WRA) is a part-time, weekend position, typically from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. The WRA performs the same significant role as the RA in assisting people with intellectual disabilities to live well.
