Employment Opportunities
at Down Home Ranch Joining Down Home Ranch means becoming a ranch hand — being a part of running a working farm and ranch and at the same time help people with special needs. Employees who ride for the DHR brand love the country life style and values, and also enjoy being around, working with and helping people with Down syndrome and other disabilities. We are a community of opportunity, helping others become more resourceful, self-reliant, confident and happy in their lives. In this we take great professional pride and seek to invite others who share this noble calling into our working farm and ranch community. If you are interested in any of the opportunities listed below, download the employment application and click on each of the job description titles to download more information about each of them. Like working with people with Down syndrome and other disabilities? Like cleaning buildings? Like setting and achieving high standards? If so, read on. We are looking for a good person to join our ranch team heading a work crew of 6 to 8 ranchers in our Ranch Work Program. The qualified person would possess skills mentoring, teaching and leading ranchers in performing tasks of cleaning office sites, cabins and meeting areas on the ranch property. Must meet high standards of cleanliness. Experience working with persons with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and/or job coaching preferred, but not required. This position is full time with benefits. It is not a live-in position. We're looking for a very experienced, full-charge bookkeeper, with proficiency in QuickBooks and competency in MS Office software. If you like working in the counrty, on a ranch, and can take the high energy demands of a complex, growing organization then this may be the place for you. The Bookkeeper will be an integral part of the Front Office and reporting directly to the Executive Director. This job is for a team player who can give and take equally well, and likes being a part of an organization with a purpose. If you think you might like to ride for the DHR brand, then here are details about the position. The Resident Assistant (RA) lives in a home with four men or four women with Down syndrome or other disabilities, providing them with instruction, guidance, assistance, and friendship with the goal of helping them to achieve greater competence and independence in all walks of life. This is a full-time, live-in position for a single man, single woman, or couple. The Weekend Resident Assistant (WRA) is a part-time, weekend position, typically from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. The WRA performs the same significant role as the RA in assisting people with intellectual disabilities to live well. While we may not have an immediate opening for an RA or WRA, we'd like to know about you, so get in touch with us and we'll keep you posted on openings.
